At around noon on Tuesday, the Des Plaines Fire Department received a call about a fire at 701 Albany Lane. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames in the attic and spreading through the roof of a two-story home. The crew quickly brought the fire under control within 20 minutes, and out-of-town units were released shortly after arriving at the staging area.
The incident highlighted the quick response and efficiency of the local fire department, who managed to contain the blaze before it could spread further. While no injuries were reported, the home sustained significant damage. Firefighters used water and foam to extinguish the flames, with some of the equipment seen on-site.
Two photos from Larry Shapiro capture the scene: one showing a Pierce Arrow XT fire engine parked near the house, and another displaying the foam being applied during the firefighting efforts.
