I just came across some exciting news from the Fire Service, Inc. Facebook page. It looks like the Buffalo Grove Fire Department is expanding its fleet with a brand-new E-ONE Typhoon eMAX rescue pumper! Chief Mike Baker, Deputy Chief Bill Wagner, and the entire apparatus committee deserve a round of applause for this fantastic addition.
This new rig is the fourth E-ONE vehicle for the department, and it's coming equipped with top-of-the-line features that will undoubtedly enhance their operational capabilities. Here’s a breakdown of what this impressive piece of equipment includes:
- A Cummins L9 450 HP engine for powerful performance.
- An Allison EVS3000 transmission for smooth gear changes.
- An extruded aluminum body paired with a 2-arm hydraulic ladder rack for durability and efficiency.
- A 780-gallon water tank to handle any situation.
- An E-ONE 1500-GPM pump for rapid firefighting response.
- A Whelen emergency warning light package to ensure visibility.
- A Smart Power 10kw hydraulic generator for additional power needs.
- A Wil-burt light tower for better scene illumination.
- FireTech HiViz LED scene lights to improve safety and visibility at incident sites.
