I just stopped by the brand-new station for the Grayslake Fire Protection District. It’s really impressive! I took some photos while I was there and thought they’d be great to share on the website.
Check out this first shot of the station itself. It looks so modern and well-equipped. The attention to detail in the design is really something special. Here's another one showing Grayslake Engine 2722 parked inside Station 3. That engine is a workhorse and always ready for action.
And here’s a closer look at something pretty unique—the Division 4 & 5 wildland team’s Unit 6973. This rig is a 1994 Ford F-800 with a Boise Mobile 750/500/20A setup. It’s been retrofitted for wildland firefighting and even carries some US Forest Service equipment. Talk about versatility!
It’s amazing how much effort goes into making sure these stations and vehicles are prepared for anything. I’m glad I could capture these moments for everyone to see. Let me know what you think of the photos!
Anyway, I’ll keep an eye out for any updates or new developments at the station. They’re doing some really cool things out here.
