In addition to the Benks ArmorPro 600D, there are two other variations of the Benks ArmorPro series: the Benks ArmorPro Aurora and the Benks ArmorPro Montage. Out of these, I only own the Benks ArmorPro Aurora, which I received as an unexpected gift from Benks. The packaging for the Benks ArmorPro Aurora is sleek and minimalistic, showcasing its premium feel right out of the box (Figures 1-3). This case is crafted from 600D Kevlar fiber, much like the 600D variant, but the design draws inspiration from the northern lights, featuring a gradient of blue and green hues with subtle hints of orange. On the other hand, the Benks ArmorPro Montage uses 1500D Kevlar fiber, maintaining a solid black color but incorporating unique patterns. The pricing reflects these differences: the Benks ArmorPro Aurora retails for $52.99 on Benks, while the Montage costs $42.99. With a storewide 15% discount using the coupon code "lesterchan15," the final prices drop to $45.04 and $36.54, respectively. Meanwhile, on Lazada, the Aurora sells for S$67.52 and the Montage for S$57.17, while on Shopee, they retail for S$71.56 and S$61.03, respectively. When comparing the build quality, the Benks ArmorPro Aurora stands out as superior to the 600D version, justifying its higher price point. One of the standout features is the button covers, which are fully enclosed without any gaps (Figure 4). Additionally, the speaker grill is precisely aligned with the iPhone's design rather than being a generic cutout (Figure 5). The back of the case also features a textured surface, making it less slippery to grip (Figure 6). Another improvement is that the Kevlar fiber extends all the way to the case's frame, not only reinforcing it but also reducing the overall weight from 43g in the 600D model to 39g in the Aurora (Figure 7). If I had to choose between the three variants, I would lean towards the Benks ArmorPro Aurora due to its exceptional build quality. However, aesthetically, I find the simpler design of the Benks ArmorPro 600D more appealing. It’s unfortunate that I can’t enjoy the best of both worlds—quality and simplicity—in one case. (Figure 8 shows the Benks ArmorPro Aurora paired with an iPhone 16 Pro Max, highlighting its slim profile and premium appearance.) Overall, the Benks ArmorPro Aurora is an excellent choice for those who prioritize durability and attention to detail in their phone case. Despite its higher price tag, its superior craftsmanship makes it worth considering over its counterparts.
