Volvo Cars from Sweden has unveiled a groundbreaking hybrid technology that promises to cut fuel consumption in heavy vehicles—including cars and trucks—by as much as 35%. This innovation, introduced during a press event in Stockholm, marks a significant step forward in sustainable transportation.
The core of the new system lies in battery-assisted diesel engines. Unlike traditional setups, this technology captures energy generated during braking and uses it to recharge the vehicle's battery. This makes it especially effective for urban driving, where frequent stops and starts are common. Vehicles equipped with the technology, such as buses and delivery trucks, can even operate on electric power alone for short distances, significantly reducing noise pollution and emissions.
Despite the environmental benefits, the new technology comes at a cost. Vehicles featuring this hybrid system are expected to be approximately 35% more expensive than those with conventional engines. However, Volvo believes the long-term savings in fuel and maintenance will offset the initial price increase.
This development is part of Volvo’s broader commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. With growing pressure on automakers to adopt greener solutions, this technology could pave the way for more efficient and eco-friendly commercial vehicles in the future. As cities continue to expand and traffic congestion worsens, innovations like this could play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of transportation.
Sugarcane Harvester
Since the growth of sugarcane has certain requirements on plant spacing, row spacing and planting depth, it requires a lot of manpower and time, but one machine can bear the workload of several or even dozens or even hundreds of people. Compared with manual production, using machinery for production can complete more work in a shorter time, greatly save the time required for each link of sugarcane manufacturing, and reduce the cost consumption in the sugarcane manufacturing process.
The Self-propelled automatic sugarcane harvester specially developed by TAGRM can automatically cutting the sugarcane and even fallen, which greatly accelerates the efficiency of sugarcane harvesting.
