On July 14, it was revealed that Hebei Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. has successfully developed and manufactured a 440MVA/110kV ultra-large transformer, completing a successful trial run. This product marks a significant milestone, as it is the largest capacity 110kV power transformer ever developed and produced in China—and indeed, globally.
According to Ding Qiang, Chairman of Tianwei Group and Tianwei Baozheng, this transformer was specifically designed for Shanghai Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. It is entirely developed with independent intellectual property rights and fills a critical gap in both domestic and international transformer manufacturing. The achievement highlights the company's growing technological capabilities and its commitment to innovation.
