On July 14, it was revealed that Hebei Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd. has successfully developed and manufactured a 440MVA/110kV ultra-large transformer, marking a major breakthrough in the company's product lineup. This achievement represents the largest capacity 110kV power transformer ever developed and produced in China, and possibly worldwide.
According to Ding Qiang, Chairman of Tianwei Group and Tianwei Baozheng, this transformer was specifically designed for Shanghai Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. It is entirely built with independent intellectual property rights, filling a critical gap in both domestic and international transformer manufacturing. The development highlights the company’s growing technological self-reliance and competitive edge in the global market.
