The "Screw Compressor Design Theory, Key Technologies and Series Product Development" project, jointly completed by Xi'an Jiaotong University and Yantai Ice Wheels Co., Ltd., achieved remarkable success. In 2006, it was honored with the Second-Class National Science and Technology Progress Award, marking a significant milestone in China's refrigeration and compressor industry. The project's core technologies and software have since been licensed both domestically and internationally, with over 20 companies successfully applying them, resulting in substantial performance improvements.
Through in-depth research, the project uncovered the fundamental relationships between the thermal performance of screw compressors and critical design parameters such as rotor profiles. This led to the establishment of a comprehensive design theory for screw compressors. Several key technologies were developed and mastered, including the rotor profile design method, the cutting edge technology for machining rotors, and the development of specialized design and calculation software. These innovations earned a total of 12 patent authorizations and one software copyright, demonstrating the project's technological depth and originality.
In collaboration with leading industry enterprises, the team successfully developed a series of screw compressor products.
