**Product Introduction**

The main feature of this valve is its dual functionality as both a pressure relief valve and a pressure sustaining valve.
As a pressure relief valve, it releases excess pressure when the pilot valve setting is exceeded, maintaining safe pipeline pressure and preventing damage caused by high or sudden pressure surges. It is commonly used in high-rise building fire test cycle systems and other water supply systems to prevent system failures due to excessive hydraulic pressure.
As a pressure sustaining valve, it maintains the upstream water supply pressure above a set value, ensuring consistent pressure for downstream equipment. This makes it ideal for use in fire protection systems and other critical applications where pressure stability is essential.

The valve consists of a main valve, pilot valve, needle valve, ball valve, and pressure gauge. These components are connected via piping, forming a pipe control system, as shown in the diagram below:

**5. Working Principle and Purpose**
As a pressure relief valve, the main valve is installed on the drain bypass and connected in parallel with the main line. When the upstream pressure exceeds the pilot valve set point (20), the main valve quickly drains to reduce pressure until it drops below the set value. This prevents water hammer and ensures pipeline safety. It is mainly used to eliminate excessive pressure caused by higher flow supply than demand, such as in the early stages of fire hydrant systems, automatic sprinkler systems, and pump outlets.
As a pressure sustaining valve, the main valve is installed on the main pipe and connected in series. If the upstream pressure falls below the pilot valve set point (20), the main valve closes. When the upstream pressure exceeds the set value, the main valve opens, allowing water to flow downstream and maintaining the required pressure. It is especially useful in fire systems to prevent pressure drop due to over-pumping.
**6. Installation and Adjustment**
1. The optimal installation is horizontal with the pump cover up. Other methods can also be used, but ensure all debris is removed before installation. Pay attention to the flow direction arrow on the valve body and install it accordingly. Avoid any stress on the valve after installation.
2. A gate valve and filter should be installed before the main valve, and another gate valve after it for maintenance purposes.
3. Ensure the pipeline is clean, the needle valve is open, the ball valve is closed, and the balancing ball valves are fully open. Adjust the pressure by loosening the lock nut under the pilot valve wheel, then turning it clockwise to increase pressure or counterclockwise to decrease it, and relocking the nut afterward.
4. Thoroughly flush the pipeline before filling it with water.
5. Regularly clean the micro-filter.
