**Product Introduction**
This valve is designed and manufactured by our company based on advanced models from the United States, France, and China. It utilizes hydraulic operation combined with automatic control. The streamlined design of the valve body minimizes internal head loss. The main feature of this valve is its dual functionality as both a pressure relief valve and a pressure sustaining valve.
As a pressure relief valve, it releases excess pressure beyond the pilot valve's set value, maintaining safe pipeline pressure to prevent damage caused by high or sudden pressure surges. It is commonly used in fire test cycles in high-rise buildings and other water supply systems, ensuring that excessive hydraulic pressure does not pose a risk to the system.
As a pressure sustaining valve, it ensures that the upstream water pressure remains above a certain threshold, maintaining consistent flow and preventing issues caused by over-pumping. This makes it an ideal solution for water supply systems where stability is essential.
**2. Structure**
The valve consists of a main valve, pilot valve, needle valve, ball valve, and pressure gauge. These components are connected via piping, forming a pipe control system. The key components include:

**5. Working Principle and Purpose**
As a pressure relief valve, the main valve is installed on a drain bypass and connected in parallel with the main line. When the upstream pressure exceeds the pilot valve’s set value (typically 20 bar), the main valve quickly drains to reduce pressure until the upstream pressure drops below the set value. This prevents water hammer and ensures pipeline safety. It is primarily used to eliminate excess pressure due to higher flow supply than demand, such as during the initial stages of a fire hydrant system, automatic sprinkler systems, or pump outlets.
As a pressure sustaining valve, the main valve is installed on the main pipe and connected in series. If the upstream water pressure falls below the pilot valve’s set value, the main valve closes. When the upstream pressure exceeds the set value, the main valve opens to maintain the required pressure. It is especially useful in fire protection systems to ensure minimum supply pressure and avoid decompression caused by over-pumping.
**6. Installation and Adjustment**
1. The optimal installation is horizontal with the pump cover facing up. Other installation methods may also work, but it is essential to remove all debris from the pipeline before installation. Pay attention to the flow direction arrow on the main valve and install it accordingly. Ensure no external stress is placed on the valve body or internal parts after installation.
2. A gate valve and filter should be installed before the main valve, and another gate valve should be placed after it for maintenance purposes.
3. Ensure the pipeline is in good condition, the needle valve (23) is open, the ball valve (21) is closed, and all balance ball valves are fully open. To regulate pressure, loosen the lock nut beneath the pilot valve wheel, then turn the wheel clockwise to increase pressure or counterclockwise to decrease it, and re-tighten the lock nut afterward.
4. Thoroughly flush the pipeline before filling it with water.
5. Clean the micro filter (24) regularly.
