Ever since I became a fan of quirky gadgets, one meme has always stood out as my absolute favorite: "Shut Up And Take My Money!" So when I stumbled upon a pre-order announcement for the Youtooz Collectibles: Futurama Take My Money Fry figurine on some random website (I can't quite remember which one now), I knew I had to have it. Without hesitation, I placed my pre-order on March 16, 2024, and patiently waited until it finally shipped in August of the same year.
The figurine itself is a delightful recreation of Philip J. Fry, complete with a fistful of cash and that iconic "Shut up and take my money!" expression. Standing at 5.2 inches tall, it’s packaged in a sleek Futurama-themed window box designed to keep it safe during transit. To ensure its protection, Youtooz includes an additional matte, embossed outer sleeve and a custom-sized plastic protector.
Unfortunately, due to licensing agreements, the figurine can only be shipped to select countries, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia. Since I’m based in Singapore, I had to use a freight forwarding service called HopShopGo to receive my package. It’s great to see they’re back in business after being acquired by a Chinese company.
For those interested, here’s a timeline of events: The figurine launched on March 12, 2024, and I pre-ordered it just four days later. Youtooz shipped it on August 11, 2024, and HopShopGo received it on September 6. I sent it on to Singapore the following day, and it arrived safely on September 13, 2024.
The price point for this collectible is quite reasonable. The figurine itself costs $29.99 USD (approximately $40 SGD), with domestic shipping in the U.S. costing an extra $5 USD ($7 SGD). Shipping from the U.S. to Singapore via HopShopGo added another $19.19 USD ($25 SGD).
