Since I’m a huge fan of gadgets and tech, the “Shut Up And Take My Money!†meme has always been one of my favorites. Recently, while browsing random sites (I honestly don’t remember which one now), I stumbled upon a preorder announcement for the Youtooz Collectibles: Futurama Take My Money Fry figurine. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to own it. So, I placed my preorder on March 16, 2024, and it finally shipped out on August 11, 2024.
Here’s what the official description says:
> “Shut up and take my money!†Armed with a fistful of crumpled dollar bills and a mind like a steel sieve, Philip J. Fry makes his vinyl debut with Youtooz! This collectible stands 5.2 inches tall and comes in a handsome Futurama-themed window box. It’s shipped in a matte, embossed outer sleeve for protection, along with a custom-sized plastic protector to ensure it arrives safely.
Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions, it can only be shipped to the U.S., UK, Canada, and Australia. So, I had to send it to my freight forwarder, HopShopGo, which recently resumed operations after being acquired by a Chinese company.
For those interested, here’s the timeline:
- The figurine was officially launched on March 12, 2024.
- I preordered it on March 16, 2024.
- Youtooz shipped it on August 11, 2024.
- HopShopGo received it on September 6, 2024.
- I shipped it out on September 7, 2024, and it arrived in Singapore on September 13, 2024.
The Futurama Take My Money Fry figurine isn’t overly expensive. The figurine itself costs $29.99 (or around S$40). Shipping within the U.S. adds $5 (S$7), and shipping from the U.S. to Singapore via HopShopGo costs $19.19 (S$25).
This figurine is going to look amazing as a display piece, and it even comes with a transparent protective case for the box, ensuring it stays in mint condition.
