Recently, Eaton and China Southern Power Grid Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in smart micro-network projects. The two parties aim to cooperate in the low-carbon and high-reliability micro-grid project in Nansha District of Guangzhou to jointly promote the development of smart grid.
As one of the 27 low-carbon development cooperation agreements or memorandums of understanding signed during the Second Sino-US Climate Smart/Low Carbon City Summit, the cooperation between Eaton and the Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau will not only be signed by President Xi Jinping and President Obama. The relevant initiatives of the Sino-US Joint Statement on Climate Change will be implemented, and will accelerate the promotion of pragmatic exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States in the development of low-carbon cities through a series of applications of green innovation and technology. The project is expected to be put into operation at the end of 2017. Upon completion, it will become an iconic project for Sino-US smart grid cooperation.

According to the cooperation memorandum of understanding signed this time, Eaton and Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau will cooperate to promote the comprehensive energy micro-grid system demonstration project of Guangzhou Nansha Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau Training Center, which includes renewable energy such as wind power and photovoltaic, battery energy storage and charging facilities, and Local and central two-level microgrid control systems. The microgrid system can comprehensively adjust various energy sources in the center, and can operate in a flexible microgrid structure according to environmental conditions, including isolated network operation, satisfying users' comprehensive energy demand, reducing system energy consumption, improving power supply quality and power supply. reliability. At the same time, the project will also improve the micro-grid related standards for future urban energy interconnection, explore regional multi-micro power grid promotion models and policy adaptability, and accelerate the development of low-carbon cities in China.
In this project, Eaton will give full play to the advantages and experience in design, equipment, and construction, provide technical support and participate in research and development, and assist in the construction of Nansha high-reliability micro-grid demonstration project, which is at high disaster risk. High-tech energy penetration rate, operating experience and results under the condition of distributed structure micro-grid system, provide first-hand data and basis for improving the relevant standards of China's micro-grid design and operation.
