Brief Introduction About High Pressure Die Casting

High-pressure die casting is a manufacturing process where molten metal is injected into a mold under high pressure, typically ranging from 10 to 210 MPa. This method produces highly uniform castings with excellent surface finish and exceptional dimensional accuracy. It often reduces or eliminates the need for additional machining, saving time and cost in the production process. We offer both cold chamber and hot chamber processes. In the cold chamber process, the metal is ladled into the injection chamber for each shot, reducing exposure to the chamber walls and plunger, which is ideal for aluminum and copper alloys that may react with iron at high temperatures. The hot chamber process, on the other hand, keeps the injection chamber permanently immersed in molten metal, making it suitable for metals with low melting points and high fluidity, such as tin and zinc.

Donrex provides a wide range of die casting materials, including aluminum, copper, zinc, and magnesium. Zinc castings are particularly advantageous due to their high melt fluidity, allowing for thinner wall thicknesses compared to aluminum. Our capabilities include producing parts ranging from very small to approximately 50 kg (110 lbs) for aluminum, 10 kg (22 lbs) for magnesium, 80 kg (176 lbs) for zinc, and 10 kg (22 lbs) for copper.
