This is from Steve Redick:
The incident occurred early Monday morning on the 2900 block of Irving Park Road in Chicago. It was a large commercial building featuring a bowstring truss in the rear and a flat roof in the front. I arrived just as the fire broke through the roof, making it a challenging situation to manage. The conditions were tough—light rain, heavy smoke that lingered low, and a central median with plenty of trees that made visibility difficult. Plus, the Snorkel and one of the tower ladders were out of service.
Two tower ladders and a Snorkel were positioned early, but communication problems arose. There were a few shots of a company using a large attack line at the mouth of an alley to protect a large frame house. You can also see some images of Truck 13 with their new Crimson aerial (whether it's an ERV or something else, I'm not sure). The fire lasted for several hours, and crews remained on scene until around lunchtime. Here’s a selection of the photos.
