Affected by the cancellation of export tax rebates and the international financial crisis, this year, the export of rosin and deep processing products in Guangxi has been declining, and the economic efficiency of enterprises has been severely declining. Take Ganzhou City as an example. Zhangzhou is a major market for the production and export of pine resin products. The annual output and export volume account for about 30% of the country's total. It has long occupied the top spot of the city's export commodities. However, since the beginning of this year, the export of rosin forest products in Zhangzhou has continued to slump. In late October, the reporter learned from local customs that in the first three quarters, the export of rosin and its deep-processed rosin products in Quzhou fell, which was a drop of nearly 70% year-on-year. In addition, deep-processed products such as disproportionated rosin, polymerized rosin, hydrogenated rosin, and water white rosin, which performed better last year, also showed an overall downward trend, with a year-on-year decline of more than 10%.

Pine resin resources are one of Guangxi's advantageous resources. According to incomplete statistics, there are currently more than 300,000 hectares of pine forests in Guangxi. The rosin forestry industry in Guangxi started in the early 1990s. After years of practice, especially in recent years, the turpentine industry has become one of the pillar industries in Guangxi and has been rapidly developed. At present, China has become the country with the largest output of rosin in the world, and Guangxi is the major region of rosin production in China. In the past three years, the export volume of rosin in China has accounted for more than 75% of the total output. In the same period, the output of rosin in Guangxi accounted for almost half of the country.

At present, though Guangxi Rosin enterprises have a large number, most of them are small and medium-sized enterprises with poor strength. They cannot withstand the storm in the fierce market competition. Since the financial crisis, the price of rosin has continued to decline. Many small and medium-sized rosin factories, especially those without deep-processing products, have fallen into a situation of loss and bankruptcy.

The reporter learned from the interview that one of the important reasons for the export of rosin and its deep-processed products was that such products were classified as “two high and one capital” export commodities. Since August of last year, export rebates have been cancelled. For the oleoresin forest products to be labelled “two high and one capital”, the industry has always been questioned.

Gu Andao, chairman of the Guangxi Forestry Industry Association, believes that pine wood forestry industry is an important part of forestry and has an essential difference from the ordinary "two high and one capital" industry. Like other forestry industries, pine wood forestry industry can not only provide abundant renewable energy resources, but also provide green and environmentally friendly products. It will be of great benefit to building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society. Moreover, turpentine and its products are, by their very nature, both renewable and degradable, and are green and environmentally friendly raw materials.

From another perspective, rosin, turpentine and its deep processing products are widely used in papermaking, coatings, adhesives, inks, synthetic rubber and other industries, the market prospects are good. It is predicted that the demand for rosin forest products in the global market in the next few years will increase by 3% to 5% annually.

Industry sources pointed out that the pine resin products belong to renewable resource products, and the pine forests have both economic, ecological and social benefits. Based on this, it is recommended that relevant departments in the country conduct a more scientific and objective assessment of rosin forestry products and restore export tax rebates for rosin and its deep-processed products. This will not only help pine wood forestation companies to overcome the current difficulties, but also promote the pine wood chemical industry. Chaoyang industry has developed rapidly.

In response to the actual situation in Guangxi, experts from the Guangxi Forestry Industry Association also suggested that the pine resin forestry industry should vigorously develop turpentine production bases, increase the coverage of pine forests, prevent indiscriminate mining, ensure the supply of raw materials to large and medium-sized enterprises, and reduce the cost of raw material turpentine. . Rosin companies need to help forest farms develop raw material bases in terms of capital, technology, etc., and implement factory-field linkages and joint development. To establish a turpentine production base, we must pay attention to breeding high-yielding tree species such as Pinus massoniana and Pinus yunnanensis in order to increase the production and quality of oleoresin raw materials. At the same time, we must pay attention to cultivating multi-species mixed forests and avoid a single species afforestation, so as to avoid serious pests and diseases, especially the damage of pine caterpillars.

Huang Xiaodong, general manager of Rosin, pointed out that as a large area of rosin production, Guangxi must transform its resource advantages into economic advantages as quickly as possible, and must step up efforts to establish a technological innovation system. To this end, we must enhance the independent innovation capability of gloomy enterprises, especially large-scale ones, and adopt advanced technology and equipment to strengthen technological transformation; Second, we must strengthen the research and development of high-tech, follow the international level and strive to make breakthroughs; the third is to take the road of integration of production, education and research. With scientific research projects as a link, research institutes and enterprises will cooperate and accelerate the formation of competitive products.

In foreign countries, rosin companies in developed countries attach great importance to the development of deep processing products other than rosin and turpentine. Hercules, the largest rosin company in the world, invests 75 million U.S. dollars in scientific research every year. In addition to rosin and turpentine, it also produces a variety of chemical products such as polymer materials. Based on this, experts suggested that Guangxi Rosin enterprises should pay more attention to deep processing and lengthening the industrial chain, and constantly increase the technological content and added value of pine resin products. For example, enterprises producing linalool can produce feed VE at the same time; companies that produce rosin resin can produce adhesives or coatings at the same time; companies that produce ink resins can also produce inks.
