According to Wang Zhe, from 2006 to the present, private car buyers in Shanghai have maintained a growth rate of more than 20%. By the end of 2009, the number of registered motor vehicles was 2.423 million, not including some vehicles that have been licensed in Shanghai. . The vehicles bring convenience to the public and cause environmental pollution. According to estimates, 66% of pollution sources, 90% of organic matter, and 26% of particulate matter in Shanghai are from motor vehicle pollution.
