Energy is a strategic asset and it is related to economic development and the country’s future security. Both China and India are lean oil countries, and their dependence on imported oil is serious. More than one-third of China’s oil needs to be imported, while India’s dependence on energy imports is as high as 70%. In addition, the two oil companies face fierce competition from international oil companies when they enter overseas. Compared with them, Sino-Indian oil companies have relatively large gaps in capital, technology, and management experience, and companies of the two countries can only increase their competitiveness by joining forces.
