According to the statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to July, China's automobile production and sales were 5.113 million units and 5.0136 million units, an increase of 23.30% and 24.71% respectively. Among them, passenger car production and sales were 3.626 million and 3.5402 million, an increase of 21.67% and 23.73% year-on-year; commercial vehicle production and sales were 1.847 million and 1.473 million, an increase of 27.44% and 27.13%.
In July, the production and sales of automobiles fell in a month-on-month ratio, but it still maintained a rapid growth year-on-year. In July, the automobile production and sales amounted to 658,700 units and 641,000 units, which was a decrease of 10.34% and 11.65% compared with the previous period, an increase of 31.54% and 36.55% respectively year-on-year. Among the major automobile varieties, passenger car production and sales reached 477,700 units and 457,200 units, a decrease of 10.37% and 10.45% month-on-month, an increase of 29.24% and 36.52% year-on-year; commercial vehicle sales were 181,700 units and 183,800 units, a decrease of 10.25% compared with the previous period. 14.50%, a year-on-year increase of 37.98% and 36.65%.
Significant increases in passenger cars and SUVs in passenger cars
From January to July, compared with the same period of last year, the production and sales of all kinds of passenger cars continued to grow steadily year-on-year, among which the increase in sales of passenger cars (basic passenger cars) and SUVs (Sports Multi-Purpose Vehicles) was higher, with crossovers. Passenger cars are relatively low.
In July, except for a slight increase in the sales volume of MPVs (multi-function passenger vehicles), the production and sales volume of other passenger car categories all decreased in different degrees. Among them, the decline in production and sales of cross-type passenger cars was the most significant, falling by 21.68% and 30.63% respectively. . Compared with the same period of last year, the variety of passenger vehicles continued to maintain rapid growth, with the increase of SUV being particularly significant, with an increase of 103.39% and 100.80% respectively. From the point of view of the production and sales of passenger cars, the SUV was the highest, reaching 110.33%; Passenger cars are slightly lower, but they also exceed 90%, reaching 91.59%.
Commercial vehicle growth continues to stabilize
From January to July, the production and sales of all types of commercial vehicles increased at different levels year-on-year. Among them, the growth rate of semitrailer tractors was still rapid, with the growth in production and sales reaching 1.4 times and 1.2 times year-on-year respectively; the growth rate of truck chassis (non-integrated trucks) was second, and the growth in production and sales reached 38.86% and 36.58% respectively. The growth rate of passenger cars and trucks increased slightly from January to June. In comparison, the increase in sales of passenger car chassis (non-completed passenger cars) was relatively low, reaching 7.48% and 8.69%, respectively, compared with the production and sales from January to June. The year-on-year increases slowed by 2.74 percentage points and 3.76 percentage points respectively.
In July, in all commercial vehicle varieties, apart from the sequential increase in the chassis output of passenger cars, the production and sales of other types of products decreased, among which the drop in the chassis of trucks and trucks was more obvious. Compared with the same period of last year, the production and sales of passenger cars chassis continued to decline slightly. The other varieties still maintained rapid growth, among which the increase of semi-trailer tractors still ranked first, reaching 1.3 times and 1.4 times respectively.
Accumulated sales of SAIC ranked first
From January to July, the top ten automobile manufacturers in terms of sales volume were: SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, Chang'an, BAIC, GAC, Chery, Brilliance, Hafei, and Geely. Compared with the same period of last year, Hafei had a slight decline, and other enterprises maintained stable growth, among which Guangqi, Chery and Brilliance still topped the list, increasing by 63.51%, 45.89% and 53.03% respectively. From January to July, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 4,153,700 vehicles, accounting for 83% of the total sales of automobiles. In July, the top ten automobile manufacturers in terms of sales volume were: FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Chang'an, BAIC, GAC, Chery, Brilliance, JAC, and Hafei. Compared with June, Brilliance and JAC showed a slight increase, and other companies all declined. Among them, Chang'an and Chery declined more significantly, falling by 37.50% and 21.80% respectively. In July, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 53.10 million automobiles, which accounted for 83% of the total sales of automobiles.
From January to July, the top ten passenger car sales rankings were: SAIC-GM-Wuling, Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, Chery, Chang'an, Guangzhou Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, FAW Toyota and Beijing Hyundai. From January to July, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 2,055,500 passenger cars, accounting for 58% of the total passenger car sales. In July, the top ten passenger car sales rankings were: Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Chery, FAW Toyota, Guangzhou Honda, Dongfeng Nissan, Beijing Hyundai and Changan Ford. In July, the above-mentioned ten companies sold 261,100 passenger vehicles, accounting for 59% of the total passenger car sales.
From January to July, the top ten commercial vehicle sales rankings were: Beiqi Futian, Dongfeng, FAW, JAC, Jinbei, CNHTC, Chang’an, Jiangling, Nanqi, and Shaanxi Auto. From January to July, the above-mentioned ten companies sold 99.26 million commercial vehicles, accounting for 67% of the total commercial vehicle sales. In July, the top ten commercial vehicle sales rankings were: Beiqi Foton, Dongfeng, FAW, Jianghuai, Jinbei, CNHTC, Nanjing Automotive, Jiangling, Shaanxi Auto, and Great Wall. In July, the above-mentioned ten companies sold a total of 120,400 commercial vehicles, accounting for 68% of the total commercial vehicle sales.
